Two new Horses!

So, two new additions to the farm....Sundance & Raindance. They are sisters and making friends with the other horses. Beautiful, aren't they?!!

Ident-A-Child

Just this past Thursday my son and I drove to St. Andrews church in Picton to participate in the Ident-A-Child program with the 3rd Picton Brownies. The IDENT-A-CHILD program is a private nonprofit organization established to assist law enforcement in locating missing children (through a cooperative effort with local law enforcement and the media).

The IDENT-A-CHILD program provides a free identification service for children where parents and primary care providers are encouraged to have their children video taped and fingerprinted. The video tape is maintained by the local law enforcement agency for a period of three years. The parent of care provider retains the fingerprints.

My sister Janet took a few candids for the evening while I covered the portraits.

Here is an example of the photo that goes into the information package:

And of course girls being girls they had to have a few fun photos.

Thanks Gerri for the backdrop!

Nat & Matt

We had a few tired children through the ceremony...how cute!

September 23rd was by far the most requested wedding date this year. Nat booked me months in advance off my website to secure her date. I love going to weddings and introducing myself to the bride for the first time as their wedding photographer. :)

Really, I was joking when I suggested we place Nat across the men but she was willing to climb the wall for this photo :)

Kelly & Robin

Kelly and Robin are engaged to be married July 14 2007!

It was a very windy day but we worked with it :)

Laura & Derek

Engaged to be married July 28th 2007.

I really like the above photo. I played with the leaves a bit in Photoshop to colour them a bit more yellow.

We moved around to several locations and on the way we saw a Beaver. Just when I said I wish the Beaver were closer it started moving to us :)

Photographers at Play

A great thing about having fantastic friends in the biz is that at the end of a Saturday when you’ve both just finished a wedding you go to your photographers friends house and take more photos....of one another! That’s what Gerri and I did tonight. We both were finished our weddings at 6pm. After, we meet at her house so I could see her now finished studio so of course, both being photo nuts, we took some photos.

About my wedding today...it was beautiful and I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow with lots of photos, but for now I’m off to bed.

Here is a photo from the Jenna/Gerri photo session tonight.

Rainy Day Photos

This is Flashy Pants soaking up the rain.
Spiderman and Hound are great friends.
There are only two cows here and I'm the only one here who thinks cows are cute.

There is also an apple orchard here which makes a great backdrop.

OK, I better get back to working on my story albums. Just thought I would take a short break. :)

Married September 9th

We started with some good rain in the morning. I guess the up side of that is that the rain blesses the couple with forever luck in their lives together...isn’t that what they say??? The ceremony took place at outside with water and trees in the background. It was beautiful. The mothers were seated, the bridesmaids walked down the aisle in our overcast skies, and as soon as Kristi and her father took step to the aisle the full sun came out while the guests took noticed I heard the wow’s of the guests. From then on our skies stayed clear of rain and the day was flawless.

Huckleberry & Spiderman

So, you will probably notice my interest in farm photos start to grow now that I live on a farm. Maybe you’ve read about Spiderman the horse in an earlier post. Let me introduce Huckleberry - a golden lab.

Doesn't it look like he is smiling??? I think this dog smiles.

Huckleberry and Spiderman are great friends and Spiderman even kisses huck. It's so adorable!

Rainy Engagement

Yesterday was such a raining day and I had two engagements. I'm trying to get all my engagements done on Sundays...you know, sticking with a schedule. August was pretty busy with weddings from Thursday-Sundays on some weekends. Anyways......one couple decided they would wait until the sun was a little brighter but my other couple had no choice, rain or shine.....they had to be done yesterday with the wedding just coming up in Novemeber and the two of them flying around the world for work. I asked them to bring umbrellas and I brought a pink gerber daiy thinking maybe it will help to add colour since our sky was so grey.

The bride and groom to be are such an adorable couple! The photos turned out great and I'm sure they will agree.
