Have you ever felt like the word revolves around you? It's a strange feeling.

On Friday I got my first flat tire. It was freezing cold, it was snowing and a very cold wind was blowing. And there I am, stuck in a parking lot on hwy 2 in Trenton with a flat tire. Whenever I have car problems I call my sons grandfather, and he is always very helpful but he told me this time I'm going to have to call a male close by for help as my sons Grandfather does not live very close to the parking lot I was stuck in.

A close by male in Trenton? I only know one and he happened to be home with his children while his wife was out with the van, but he told me he would be there shortly. OK, I thought he is going to borrow a vehicle - sweet! About 15-20 min later I see him and his two children on bikes on their way to my rescue! It's so cold and they are on bikes coming to help me. It was such an overwhelming feeling and totally appreciated. To have friends drop everything and bike out in a snowy cold wind - it was a feeling of the world stopped for me and this family came to my rescue.

So then, slightly disappointed that I now have to let my car go for a day to get two new tires I am told "Maybe it's a blessing in disguise that you'll thankfully never know about" -- what a great way to look at things.

I feel your pain! I got a flat tire yesterday while my kids were at a egg hunt. I ran over a screw! Luckily my husband was there to save the day! I do not know how to change a flat!

What great friends you have!

I don't know how to change a flat either.. Maybe I should learn, I'm not sure anyone would bike out to help me! Sorry that happened to you though, but it sounds like you have an awesome friend. I'd want to meet him if he wasn't married! :)

And, I now know how to change a tire!!! So next time I can take care of myself!

I'll be able to put my new changing tire skills to work

Angela - I'll have to work on getting myself a husband for my next disaster ;)

Glad you got your car back and now have the skills to change your own tire. My father wouldn't let me get my driver's license until I could change the oil or a tire. I hate doing it, but knowing I can if I need to is a comforting thought. I think your blessing was the tangible reminder of your friend's love.

And while I highly recommend marriage, don't count on your man being able to change a tire either. I love my hubby, but he is strictly "white collar". I get nervous if I see him with a tool in his hand! :o) Better learn for yourselves.

I too read your location as Ontario, California... and was puzzled by the snow!

I wish I were in California :) It would be a nice break from all this cold, brrrrr
