Daina & Dan in Punta Cana

Were do I start???

The wedding was beautiful and such a blast! I started photographing the men in the morning before moving onto the girls pre-wedding photos. The ceremony took place in a beautiful gazebo surrounded by palm trees with 56 guests in attendance.

We had about 3 hours of shooting time to take advantage of after the ceremony so we traveled around the resort snapping away where we could. Gazebo, Pillars, palm trees, beach, boats, blue skies and exotic birds where just a few of the things that helped fill the frame for the beautiful images we were able to capture.

A sun set cruise took place after the ceremony including music and dancing on the boat as well as a stop for guests to swim and cool off from the hot day. As you can see from the images everyone had a great time.

Engaged

We started shooting in the studio and then took it outside for some more photos. I love the big coke sign. Did you know that the coke logo is the most recognized logo world wide??? It's true! At least, that's what someone told me and I believed them :)
The couple is planning a wedding this year so just months from now I'll have wedding images to share and we can see them as bride and groom.

Amanda's first babe!

...and a boy is expected!

baby coming soon!

I'm back!

What a week! I had the time of my life this past week. Between photographing weddings and hanging out by the pool in a gorgeous resort in Punta Cana, I just can't think of a better way to spend a week. Both brides and weddings were absolutely beautiful. AND, they both 'Trashed The Dress'!

A huge thanks to Dorothy who took care of the business phone line while I was away. She is amazing and scheduled studio bookings for my return. THANKS!

I'm working my way through emails and plan to get to it all on Monday.

I have a few studio sessions to post before I get onto sharing the weddings but it will take a few days to work through all the images. More to come...

Destination Weddings Week!

I'm leaving today for Punta Cana for the week to photograph two weddings...and one or two dress trashes.

I have handed over my phone to someone to take care of booking the studio while I'm gone.

I'll catch up on the blogging when I return.

Talk to you all then!

Zemona & Quan Wedding

We started with some prewedding photos at Allen Gardens in Toronto for this winter wedding
Zemona was a beautiful bride a red Chinese gown and gold eye liner.

The ceremony consisted of 30 of their closest friends and family in a German Church

The wedding was all put together in about a month. When Quan called me I thought he was planning for next year as I've never been booked on such short notice. Quan and I went to photography school together at Humber College. It was awesome meeting his new wife.

Here is a photo of the three of us.

Bowl for Kids

The event was a blast and of course a good cause. Over $40,000 dollars was raised for Big Brothers, Big Sisters. The kids took the cameras and managed to snap over 100 images. Above, are just a few of them.

Fabulous Friday week#1 Mobile Style

I took all these images with my mobile phone as it's so convenient .

After rolling out of bed and stepping into a pile of Kleenex (gross, I know) my son and I headed for the studio. I had to get some emails out before taking off for the day. As my son and I were fighting colds last week he missed the week of school so I dragged him a long with me.

Here is a image of him balancing on a ball. Have you every tried this? It's fun and good for the abs. He has been to a few of my stability ball classes I use to instruct in the gym and he can do this now for well over a minute. It's difficult when you first try but great once you get the hang of it. He hardly looks at the camera anymore. I may have over done it with him, lol
From there it was off to the Salon. I had to get my color done because I had a big event the next day. So, here is my new color. Yes, it's the same color...just brighter :)

We had to get to Toronto to pick up some prints from my lab. I drive over an hour to pick up orders as the lab I deal with is great...unlike anything I have locally. So, off to Toronto in the pouring rain
I picked up 10 11x14's to make a display for a wall to support Pediatric Cancer as the Daffodil Ball was the next day. My lab is a pro lab -- beautiful prints! Worth the drive :)
And then we got some lunch ...rice and stuff. It was good but a lot of food and we didn't even come close to eating it all. Brad eats well with chop sticks. Thanks to my friend Aya he was eating sushi with chop sticks when he was about 5 years old.

From there we made it home and crashed on the couch medicating ourselves with cold and flu products. I took Day Quil around 9pm and then couldn't sleep until after 1am. I didn't have any Night Quil and was desperate. So I stayed up playing on Facebook until I could sleep.

And that concludes my my week #1 of Fabulous Friday.
...untill next week

Keeping you up to date...

I know, the blog has been nothing but studio pixs lately. Since the move to the new studio I am four times as busy and getting all the disks out quickly but I haven’t had the time to share everything…yet. I’ll start breaking it up from the studio pixs this weekend as I have a wedding and a ton of events to share.

From April 12-19th I will be in Puta Cana, Dominican Republic photographing two weddings! I have a wedding on the Tuesday, with the other on the Thursday and a Dress Trash on the Friday. Both brides are fantastic and I can’t wait to work with them in the tropics! They are also both stunning blonds with a lot of adventure in them for wedding photos.

While away I’ll try to keep up on the emails and maybe even blogging so you all know what a great time I’m having, lol. I won’t be answering phone calls and I know my voice mail will fill up quickly so I may have my book keeper or marketing manager answer my phone while I’m away. I’ll keep you all posted on this.

Tomorrow I am kicking off ‘Fabulous Friday’. What is it? It’s a blog post of my Fabulous Friday. I say fabulous a lot. Anyone that knows me, knows that. I figure Fabulous Friday will be a good break from all the studio pixs and it gives others an idea of what else I do in the studio besides photos. Tomorrow is even a great day to start off with it, as I have a crazy busy day and I think it will be interesting to share the insanity, lol. I’m not even sure how it’s all going to fall together as far as timing goes but I always manage to pull things together.

That’s it for now. I’m off to try and catch up with my other blogger friends :)
