Another day - another rink
Tis' the season of hockey. Well, as a new hockey mom I'm learning that hockey runs all year round. Tonight we spend an hour at private goalie lessons with shinny on Tuesdays and his hockey League starts this month on Sundays. Tonight while at lessons I'll be taking a few pics that I'll be sure to share soon.
Anyway's, I have learnt how to buy goalie equipment thanks to the Sports Check website and other research I took on. I meet up with one of my past grooms at a game and he filled me in on where and what to register my son in as far as the sport goes - thanks Shawn! I have learnt that goalie skates are different from hockey skates -- who knew?!! I have learnt that when my son becomes older I'll be paying $2000 for his goalie pads - yikes! I have learnt that how to tape a goalie stick up. What I don't know is - are moms ok in the change room??? I've noticed I'm the only mom in the change room. BUT, my son needs help getting his goalie pads on as they are not easy to or maybe even possible for him to take on the task himself. Anyone know?
I'll be back with goalie pics soon :)

Hmm, I have no idea about the change room, but I wanted to say GOOD LUCK! I hope your son really enjoys it. Love your picture/conversion here. Awesome. :)
Thanks ellen :)
I really have no idea what I'm doing playing the dad part of parenting.
Well... I guess I should help ya out.. yes it is possible for him to do it himself. He has to kneel down into his pads and start the straps from the bottom up. Once he has the bottom of the pads strapped he can sit down to strap up the top halfs. He will need some practice at home on this though to get it down. He can have a team mate tighten up the straps to where he likes them. Hope this helps... And good luck.
Thanks Chad!
Sometimes I really miss the small things. I should have thought to have him practice at home.
:)
Love this picture! It definitely says "hockey" to me. I hope he has lots of fun playing!
